On 16 July 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Manila organized a social service activity under the “Royal Initiative Volunteers” program to celebrate the auspicious occasion of the Birthday Anniversaries of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Vajiraklaochaoyuhua and Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana of the Kingdom of Thailand on 28 July and 3 June 2025, respectively. The Royal Thai Embassy together with members of Team Thailand in the Philippines donated Thai Hom Mali Jasmine rice and dry foods to the Philippines Red Cross for further use in voluntary service especially for victims of disasters.
H.E. Mrs. Makawadee Sumitmor, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of the Philippines handed over the donation to the Philippine Red Cross through Mr. Richard J. Gordon, Chairman and CEO of the Philippine Red Cross and Dr. Gwendolyn Pang, Secretary General of the Philippine Red Cross. Present at the ceremony were officials of the Royal Thai Embassy, members of Team Thailand in the Philippines including representatives from Thai private sectors.
The Philippine Red Cross is the country’s premier humanitarian organization providing medical and health care services, disaster preparedness and response, blood transfusion services, and quality of life promotion in the Philippines and abroad.
