Visit of H.E. Kulkumut Singhara Na Ayudhaya to Cebu City, Philippines:
Mobile Consular Service
On 30-31October 2010 H.E. Kulkumut Singhara Na Ayudhaya, Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of the Philippines, visited the Thai community in Cebu City as well as attended the Thai Food Festival and Loy Krathong Festival organized by the Royal Thai Embassy together with Shangri-La Mactan Resort & Spa.
H.E. Kulkumut Singhara Na Ayudhaya met the Thai community during a dinner at the Royal Krua Thai restaurant in Cebu City. During the said event, the Thai community which is comprised of a majority of students, Thai entrepreneurs and chefs, approximately 60 people, welcomed the Ambassador together with the officials of Royal Thai Embassy and Honorary Consulate officers in Cebu. Thai students and chefs were also able to share their experiences of studies, employment and daily life in Cebu City.
The mobile consular service is a mandatory activity of the Royal Thai Embassy that is crucial in strengthening the network of Thai community all over the Philippines. This opportunity allowed the Ambassador alongside the Consular officials and Honorary Consulate officials in Cebu to discuss with the Thai community their present well being and other areas of concern such as securing their personal documents (visa, birth certificate and passport) and emphasizing disaster preparedness and readiness of evacuation plans in time of crisis.
Apart from the work of consular unit, the Ambassador attended the Thai Food Festival, as Kitchen of the World, and Loy Karthong Festival held in Shangri-La Mactan Resort and Spa to promote Thainess in the Philippine society. The participants were representatives from the Royal Thai Embassy and management of Shangri La Mactan together with tourists, honorary guests and members from the Thai community.
It was a serene scenery of Ambassador Kulkumut, Hotel Management and guests lighting their candles and releasing their krathong to the infinity pool ending the night with fireworks and a wonderful authentic Thai dinner carefully prepared by Thai chefs.
The Consular visiting, as follow-up activity from the previous visit to Cebu in June 2010, is part of The Royal Thai Embassy?s mission to provide necessary services and timely assistance with the aim to support the Thai community in the Philippines nationwide.
