On 26 July 2011, H.E. Prasas Prasasvinitchai, Ambassador of Thailand to the Philippines, attended the Turn-Over Ceremony of scholarships under the project “SCG Sharing the Dream 2011” to 100 first- year students from public high schools of Calumpit, Bulacan and Santo Tomas, Batangas at United Pulp and Paper (UPPC) Plant, Calumpit, Bulacan. The ceremony was organized by Mr. Dumrongsak Dheerakiatkumchorn, UPPC President, and Mr. Jiraphat Oebchokchai, Vice President, Mariwasa Siam Ceramics. Mr. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado, Governor of Bulacan and Mr. James de Jesus, Mayor of Calumpit, Bulacan were also invited as guests of honour in the event.
SCG initiated the “SCG Sharing the Dream” programme in 2008 to provide scholarships to students from public high schools in Metro Manila, Calumpit, Bulacan Province, and Santo Tomas, Batangas Province.
