The Royal Thai Government, through the Royal Thai Embassy in Manila is extending assistance to the victims of the recent Typhoon Ketsana ?Ondoy? that has caused loss of life and extensive property damage in Metro Manila and other provinces in the Philippines on 26 September 2009.
The donation of the Royal Thai Government will include 100 metric ton of rice, and 50,000 sets of medical aid, amounting to a total of Baht 5 million ($150,000.00). Further, Mobile Medical Team will also be sent to assist evacuees in various areas affected in Metro Manila. The Royal Thai Embassy is presently coordinating with the National Disaster Coordination Agency in facilitating the said donations and pledge of assistance.
His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of the Kingdom of Thailand, His Excellency Abhisit Vejjajiva, Prime Minister and His Excellency Kasit Piromya, Foreign Minister have sent their condolence message, accordingly.
