On July 16, 2010 at 12.00 pm H.E. Kulkumut Singhara Na Ayudhaya, Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of the Philippines visited Thai Great Food Selections at Maqueni Restaurant, Holiday Inn Clark, Clark, Pampanga.
The Thai Ambassador appreciated Thai food promotion especially the Thai style of presentation and its flavor with healthy herbs and spice. Additionally, the Thai Ambassador discussed with the hotel general manager how to further promote Thai food and fruit in the area, exchange of knowledge and experience among Thai Chefs and Thai private sector’s support especially food products and raw materials such as shrimp and fish.
Apart from experiencing Thai atmosphere and decoration, which was partly sponsored by the Royal Thai Embassy, the guests also enjoyed varieties of Thai food such as:
Main dish : Mussaman Gai (Chicken mussaman curry), Plakapong Kee Mao (Deep fried fish drunk style), Pad Thai (Thai fried style noodles), Hoilai Pad (Fired clams in chili sauce), Nam Prik Oang (Pork and tomato dip), Kai Look Kuey (Boiled egg fried with tamarind sauce), Khao Man Gai (Chinese Chicken on Rice) and Khao Pad Sapparot (Pineapple fried rice)
Dessert : Mamuang Nam Pla Wan (Green mango in dried prawns and shallots dip), Khao Neow Karoon (Sticky rice and jackyfruit), Khao Neow Mamuang (Sticky rice and mango), Khao Neow Klauy (Sticky rice and banana) and Thai fruit
The participation of the Royal Thai Embassy in “Thai Great Food Selections” world positively promote Thai food and tourism in Clark, Pampanga. With the strength of Clark free port zone, located in the Central Luzon, and Diosdado Macapagal International Airport with the services of Cebu Pacific- direct flight from Bangkok to Clark ; these factors would help expand tourism industries between the two countries.
